Are Essay Websites Really Any Help to Students?

So you have just been set your first essay writing assessment as part of your high school, college, or university course and your deadline for completing and handing in your work.

You would think that the really hard work now starts here planning, researching and writing your essay and you would usually be right, but ever increasing numbers of students are now looking to essay websites to aid them in the writing process and – dare I say it – even do the work for them.

Yes, you read me right, you can actually pay someone else already qualified in your subject area to do the work for you and then reap the rewards from their hard work.

Sounds good doesn’t it?

May be even too good to be true?

That’s because it is!

Unfortunately, what a lot of students make the mistake of doing when opting for this kind of service is thinking its alright to exploit the availability of these services in practice and misunderstanding the promises made by essay websites that offer to produce work for you by carrying out the essay writing process as the best – and there are many brilliant companies – should say that they are there to assist you in whatever way that they can but will not simply do it for you to help you.

Far too many students fail to realise the services these essay websites provide you with are actually meant as only examples of how to complete a particular essay paper or dissertation and NOT as the best companies that run the most professional essay websites are actually only offering you a RESEARCH SERVICE. By way of illustration, whilst usually you will receive a piece written in an ‘essay style’, the work you receive will emphasise the research aspects of the piece by including a great deal of extra material for you to look at in completing your own work and may also go over the word count by as much as 1,000 words to assist you with your essay writing. This is because they are there to inform YOU and explain things to you also because of the anonymity of the process – you are not told the name of the individual writer and neither are they told your name or anything else you do not provide thekm with information on

Allied to this, many students also misconstrue the promises that are made regarding the grade of the piece that they are receiving. For example, you may pay for an ‘A’ (1st Class) piece of writing and in fact get a ‘C’ (Lower 2nd Class) grade if you just hand the work in as your own and then come complaining back to the company that runs the essay website saying “I want my money back”. But the fact of the matter is that whilst you may get your money back on occasion you actually run the slight but not insignificant risk of action being taken against you because your simply handing the work in was not the purpose of the service you have taken up since most of the more professional essay websites will tell you that you got an ‘A’ (1st Class) piece of RESEARCH as they will not encourage what is really little more than cheating – most are very professional and ethical.

However, that is not to say these essay websites will not still assist you – most will offer to make the changes your institution’s assessor requires you to do to raise your mark but you will often be required to make an extra payment. The reason for this is that most essay website companies have their own quality control team of highly qualified professors in all of the subjects that they are offering you services in who will have gone over the work produced to make sure that the research is to the standard that you paid for based on their experience in their eyes.

But this is the interesting point – ‘In their eyes’.

Whilst many would have you believe that an ‘A’ in English Literature at Oxford University is the same as an ‘A’ at Sheffield University, my research has told me something quite substantially different. The reality is that not only will you be talking about different institutional requirements, but also the particular needs of your assessor. For example, your assessor in English Literature at Sheffield University may want a precis (summary) of the sections of a particular play that you are studying referred to before you evaluate them and to write your quotes separately from the text and then talk about them, whilst an assessor at Oxford University may consider a precis of parts of the play you are studying to be a terrible waste of words and writing your quotes separate from your analysis to be disruptive to your structure and mark you down.

Therefore, what you need to appreciate is that those who you pay to write for you through these essay websites with the best companies are not only qualified in your subject, but are also usually highly qualified professors and writers themselves working at universities all over the world who will produce the best research for you according to the style that they have been taught and how they have been assessed. As a result, this is another reason why you should be careful of how you use these kinds of services because the person who helps you out may be the one who also marks your work because these services are anonymous and so they may mark you down for using the service to simply do your work for you as it is plagiarism to simply hand in the work of other.

Moreover, if quality control at the best companies did not think the work produced by a particular writer was up to their standard you would not receive it as they are loathe to take your money for something they consider below standard because of the risk to their reputation and you would get a partial refund to some degree for the service you have paid for because the company has had to find another writer. However, that is not to say there is still not a great deal of value in these services if they are used appropriately and they play a vital role in the education of many of the best students as they can not only help to dramatically improve your essay technique but also enhance your examination skills.

For one thing, there is nothing wrong with going to one of these services on an essay website and getting them to do the planning for your essay writing or dissertations for you as this can really help your essay technique. The plans these services produce are usually excellent and very straightforward to follow and yet also suitably critical and analytical for your course in whatever subject you are studying with numerous primary and secondary resources in the references – directly and indirectly – so it is then ‘simply’ a matter of filling out the plan and producing your essay. Also, if you are discerning enough, there is nothing wrong with getting the whole work completed as an EXAMPLE for you to use parts of to further your understanding in a particular subject and to research and study further when producing YOUR OWN piece of work.

I would, however, look to make the following recommendations to assist you when seeking out essay website services because the services that they provide can be invaluable for providing assistance to you to get the best marks in view of the stresses placed upon your institution by the sheer weight of numbers and the limited number of staff being able to provide you with the help that you specifically need -

(a) Be aware that the work you will receive will usually be written in the form of an essay.

(b) BUT also that it will usually be written as RESEARCH for you to write YOUR OWN work.

(c) Note that if you choose to hand in what you receive for marking you do so at your own risk because it is written to help you to write YOUR OWN work

(c) Respect the fact that your work will have been put through ‘quality control’ to check that it is up to the standard you have paid for – if you have any concerns then ask the company you have chosen about the nature of the ‘quality control’ your work is put through (i.e. How qualified are they?)

(d) If you want the work to be written in a specific way then provide as much information as possible to the company regarding the requirements of your assessor AND your institution.

(e) When you ask for an essay example for your work and you want to make sure that you will work on it yourself then where, for example, you are set 4,000 words to write ask for a 2,500 word example that is fully referenced with a bibliography that you can then expand upon yourself.

(f) Be aware that some questions you are set can be answered in more than one way because of the ambiguity of the language so check what your assessor means by the words used in a question because the writer chosen by the essay website you go to may also misunderstand the question and even if you ask for just a plan it may be useless to you.

(g) Ask questions about what you are receiving and do not be afraid to talk about your problems – there may be many other areas that essay websites can help you with including presentations, note taking, exam preparation, career planning, and CV preparation and production.

(h) These essay website services can also undertake research solely for you – i.e. produce a report on the research they have undertaken finding you the best resources.

(i) Essay websites can also help you with improving your spelling and grammar with tailored advice and practical guidance.

(j) These essay websites can also carry out proofreading and mark your work in view of the experience and qualifications that their writers and quality control teams have to assist you.

REMEMBER there is so much that essay websites can help you with with regards to furthering your education if you just understand the process and use it to your advantage.

I wish you well in finding the best service for you because if you know what you want they can supplement your learning and, in view of the fact that they can tailor their services to your needs, they can support you very often much better than your teachers and institutions because of the number that they have to deal with since their resources are more focussed – so get out there and ask for help now wherever you feel you need it.
